HAFTANIN IZI (Mayıs 2006-Ekim 2010)

Haftanın İzi köşesi Şalom Gazetesi'nde dünyadan haberlerin kısa kısa verildiği, resim ve karikatürleriyle renkli, bilgilendirici ve her hafta yayımlanan bir bölüm. Sabi Varon'dan Mayıs 2006'da devraldığım bu bölümü Ekim 2010'a kadar devam ettirdim.
Köşe yazısı yazmaya karar verince de Suzet Dalva'ya teslim edip, Alber Nasi ile dönüşümlü olarak yazmaya başladım.

Eskiden çiftler kol kola yürürdü. Eski filmleri hatırlayın, aile albümlerini karıştırın dikkatinizi çekecek bu durum. Oysa günümüzde çiftler el ele yürüyorlar, kol kola yürüyenler parmakla gösterilecek kadar azaldı. Sokakta yaşanan bu değişimi Umberto Eco’nun bir makalesi ile fark ettim. Siz de çevrenize dikkatli bakın bana hak vereceksiniz Bir kafenin kaldırım masalarından birinde oturan İtalyan düşünür Umberto Eco çevresinden geçenleri gözlemlediğinde bir şey fark etmiş; artık çiftler eskisi gibi kol kola değil el ele yürüyorlar. Bu keşif sonrasında sokaktakileri daha da dikkatle incelediğinde el ele yürüyenlerin genellikle 30 yaş üstü, burjuva sınıfına ait olduklarını fark etmiş.

How long have you been living in Dubai? What influenced you in deciding to live here? I moved to Dubai in 2016, before I had been living in London. My customer base at that time was in Kazakhstan and it had gotten harder commuting there from London every month after 6 years. Crisis Everywhere, Security Somewhere

The year 2025 unfolded under the persistent language of “crisis.” It was defined by a landscape of wars that increasingly appeared without clear political ends. As conflicts persisted without resolution, borders hardened, political polarization deepened, and societies across regions experienced a permanent state of emergency. In this environment, crisis was no longer a temporary disruption but a regular feature of the global discourse.  Last year, we saw a world saturated with the language of security. Media reflected and reinforced this condition, flooding public discourse with references to threat, danger, and survival. However, beneath the apparent universality of this state of insecurity lay a fundamental question: security for whom?
