The year 2025 unfolded under the persistent language of “crisis.” It was defined by a landscape of wars that increasingly appeared without clear political ends. As conflicts persisted without resolution, borders hardened, political polarization deepened, and societies across regions experienced a permanent state of emergency. In this environment, crisis was no longer a temporary disruption but a regular feature of the global discourse.  Last year, we saw a world saturated with the language of security. Media reflected and reinforced this condition, flooding public discourse with references to threat, danger, and survival. However, beneath the apparent universality of this state of insecurity lay a fundamental question: security for whom? 2025 yılı, sürekli yinelenen bir “kriz” söylemi altında şekillendi. Giderek artan sayıda ve net siyasal hedefleri olmayan savaşların hakim olduğu bir yıl olarak tanımlanması mümkün. Çatışmalar çözümsüz biçimde sürerken; sınırlar yeniden keskinleşti, siyasal kutuplaşma derinleşti ve farklı bölgelerdeki toplumlar kalıcı bir olağanüstü hal içine sürüklendi. In December 2025, marking nearly two years since the outbreak of the war in Gaza, Hamas Media Office published a 42-page document titled “Our Narrative: Al Aqsa Flood -Two years of Steadfastness and the Will for Liberation.” This document, or rather manifesto, which functions less as a factual account than as a strategic narrative, summarizes the War in the Gaza Strip from Hamas’s perspective as evidenced by the title “Our Narrative.” This document is similar in its format to their previous document, issued in January 2024, during the war. Although the new version is a lengthy update, the document is written after the ceasefire agreement and adopts a completely different tone and purpose. In his opening speech at the Antalya Diplomacy Forum on April 11, 2025, Turkish President Recep Tayyip  Erdogan  described Israel as a “terrorist state” that threatens regional stability, aiming to “stir up ethnic and religious affiliations in Syria and turn minorities against the government.” Since the fall of Assad’s regime in December 2024, Turkey and Israel have emerged as dominant power brokers in Syria, filling the void left by the diminishing influence of Russia and Iran. This new reality on the ground has significantly worsened the already tense relationship between Turkey and Israel.
