Henri Çiprut'un ardından

 Sevgili Henri,

Fotoğraflarımıza bakıp duruyorum. Sohbetlerimiz, yaptıklarımız, hedeflerimiz, daha da yapacaklarımız, planlarımız, hayal gücümüzün uzandığı kadar genişti. Yıllar önce bir toplantıda tanıştık ve o günden beri hiç ayrılmadık. Aklıma ne uçuk fikir geldiyse seninle paylaştım, her seferinde birbirimize yol gösterdik. Ben ‘altın makasımla’ senin destansı yazılarını (gazeteye sığsın diye) hiç acımadan kırparken, sen antisemitizme karşı çabamızda en önden ilerledin. Yaşayan Kütüphane, Gelin Tanış Olalım… aramıza yeni insanlar katma çabalarımız, Türkiye çapına yayılma uğraşımız... Bu çabalarımızdan dolayı ödüle de layık görülmüştük ama uğursuz pandemiden dolayı tören iptal olmuştu.

50 yaş bakımına girdim diyordun. Bizler estetik yaptın o yüzden ortalıkta yoksun diyorduk. Gülüyorduk, gülüyordun. Sonra sessizliklerin uzadı. Bana en son 24 Kasım’da mesaj attın “pek iyi sayılmam ama duruyorum bir şekilde” deyip bir gülücük yollamıştın. Az önce cenaze arabasında duran, toprağa çiçeklerle uğurladığımız sen olamazsın. Daha yapacak, paylaşacak çok şey vardı. Çok erken çok. Seni özledim arkadaşım. Huzur içinde uyu…

Izieron tambien la version Amerikana ke se yama “La beyeza i el panadero”. La seria konta la istorya de amor entre una supermodela internasyonal muy famoza i muy rika, i un simple panadero ke no tuvo la shans de ir a la eskola artistika por razones finansiales. La seria es dos sezones, 18 episodios en total i kada uno...

Turkish people’s perception of Israel on its 68th anniversary

“ Today we are not only celebrating the 68th anniversary of the independence of the State of Israel, we are also celebrating the anniversary of the friendship between Turkey and Israel.”  These significant words belong to deputy Governor of Istanbul, Ismail Gultekin. Last Monday, the Israeli Consulate in Istanbul held an elegant reception in Istanbul, for the 68 th  anniversary of Israel’s independence. Gultekin’s speech in this event demonstrated how imminent the normalization of the relationship between Turkey and Israel and how willing Turkey is. Israeli Consul General Shai Cohen’s speech also included similar cordial messages. Cohen said that despite issues regarding diplomatic relations, the assistance offered by Turkey to Israel after the terror attack on March 19 on Istiklal Avenue which killed three Israeli citizens, demonstrated how profound the cooperation between the two countries is. “We are Beyond What I Had Dreamed of When I Moved to Dubai”

Cem Habib  We talked about how the peace deal between Israel and the United Arab Emirates affected the Jewish life in the Emirates, with the investment manager Cem Habib, who has been living in Dubai since 2016, and who is one of the founding members of the Jewish Council of Emirates (JCE), the first officially recognized Jewish community of the UAE. How long have you been living in Dubai? What influenced you in deciding to live here? I moved to Dubai in 2016, before I had been living in London. My customer base at that time was in Kazakhstan and it had gotten harder commuting there from London every month after 6 years.
