Türk diasporası üzerine kapsamlı bir çalışma
Routledge tarafından İngilizce olarak bu ay yayınlanan ´The Routledge Handbook of Turkey´s Diasporas´ (Türk diasporasının Routledge El Kitabı), birçok ülke ve bölgenin yanı sıra, İsrail'deki Türk (Yahudi) diasporasını da kapsamlı bir şekilde ele alıyor 

Türk diasporasını ve ilgili politikalarının oluşturulmasını etkileyen sosyo-politik konuları anlatan kapsamlı bir kitap Ağustos 2024’te Routledge tarafından yayınlandı. İngilizce olarak yayınlanan ‘The Routledge Handbook of Turkey's Diasporas’ Türk diasporasını konu alan, türünün ilk örneğini oluşturuyor. 37 bölümden oluşan söz konusu derleme kitap, günümüzde Türkiye'nin çeşitli diaspora nüfuslarını şekillendiren dinamiklere kapsamlı bir bakış sunmakta. Victoria University of Wellington öğretim üyesi Dr. Ayça Arkılıç ile Macquarie School of Social Sciences, Sydney öğretim üyesi Dr. Banu Senay tarafından derlenen kitap diaspora konusunu politika, ulus ötesi dinamikler, sanat, kültür, edebiyat gibi farklı perspektiflerden ele alıyor.

Şalom gazetesi yazarı Karel Valansi, bu önemli esere bir kitap bölümü ile katkıda bulundu. ‘Enforced Departures, Anxious Arrivals, a Turkish Diaspora in Israel’ başlıklı bölümüyle yazarımız Yahudilerin göçle olan yakın ilişkisini anlatırken, İsrail için göçün önemi, ulus inşası ve vatandaşlık rejimini tartışıyor. Valansi, Türk Yahudi Toplumunu oluşturan, farklı zamanlarda ve farklı bölgelerden gelen göçlerianlatırken, Türkiye'deki Yahudilerin tarihine ve devlet ile Yahudi vatandaşları arasındaki ilişkiye de dikkat çekiyor. Her ne kadar Türk Yahudilerinin göç etme kararını çeşitli faktörler etkilemiş olsa da devletle olan ilişkileri bu tercihi anlamlandırmak açısından önemli bir yer tutuyor. Yazarımız, Türkiye'den çıkan farklı Yahudi göç dalgalarını anlatırken, nihai varış noktası olarak İsrail'e odaklanıyor. Bölüm, İsrail'de yaşayan Türk Yahudilerinin kimlikleri ve yeni hayatlarını nasıl inşa ettikleri üzerine bir tartışmayla son buluyor.

Türkiye, 6,5 milyon civarındaki diaspora nüfusuyla, diaspora konusundaki akademik çalışmalar için önemli bir örnek teşkil etmektedir. Bu kitap, Türk diasporası ile ilgili temel konu, aktör ve süreçleri ele alarak, tarihsel ve çağdaş analizlerleokuyucularaçok yönlü bir bakış açısı sağlıyor.

Panorama Asks: The NATO Summit in Ankara

On 7-8 July 2026, NATO’s heads of state and government met in Ankara for the Alliance’s 36th summit. It was the second time Türkiye has hosted this gathering since Istanbul in 2004. The year 2025 unfolded under the persistent language of “crisis.” It was defined by a landscape of wars that increasingly appeared without clear political ends. As conflicts persisted without resolution, borders hardened, political polarization deepened, and societies across regions experienced a permanent state of emergency.
