KAREL VALANSİ, Türkiye - İsrail ilişkileri kapsamında kitabını tanıttıKadir Has Üniversitesi Türkiye Çalışmaları Merkezi, 8 Ekim Pazartesi günü, ‘Geçmişten Günümüze Türkiye-İsrail İlişkileri’ başlıklı bir söyleşi düzenledi. Etkinlikte, Şalom yazarı Karel Valansi yeni kitabı ‘The Crescent Moon and the Magen David, Turkish-Israeli Relations Through the Lens of the Turkish Public’i tanıttı.
Şalom gazetesi köşe yazarı Karel Valansi’nin yeni kitabı, ‘The Crescent Moon and the Magen David, Turkish-Israeli Relations Through the Lens of the Turkish Public’ Kadir Has Üniversitesi Türkiye Çalışmaları Merkezi tarafından düzenlenen bir etkinlikle tanıtıldı. Moderatörlüğünü Kadir Has Üniversitesi Uluslararası İlişkiler Bölümü Öğretim Üyesi ve Karel Valansi’nin de tez danışmanı olan Doç. Dr. Salih Bıçakcı’nın üstlendiği söyleşide Bıçakcı, Karel Valansi’nin yaptığı çalışmanın Türkiye-İsrail ilişkileri konusunda daha önce yapılmış çalışmalardan farkını anlatarak sözlerine başladı. Bıçakcı’dan sonra söz alan Karel Valansi, kitabını ortaya çıkartırken izlediği metodu, kullandığı kaynakları anlattı.
Türkiye ile İsrail ilişkilerinin daha önce de pek çok çalışmaya konu olduğunu belirten Valansi, ancak hiçbir çalışmanın Türk halkının bakış açısına öncelik vermediğini vurguladı. Kitabı hazırlarken konu ile ilgili birçok eserin yanı sıra, Türk toplumuna olan etkisini ve ‘sokaktaki adamın’ tepkisini anlayabilmek için gazete arşivlerine, anı ve biyografi kitaplarına önem verdiğini belirtti. Sözlü tarihin önemli bir yer tuttuğu çalışmada, Türkiye’den kişilerle görüştüğünü, çalışmaları kapsamında İsrail’e giderek o dönemi yaşayan birçok kişiyle ilk ağızdan konuştuğunu aktardı. Çalışmasını anlatırken, her bölümde dikkat çeken bilgileri dinleyicilerle paylaştı.
Öncelikle İsrail Devleti’nin kurulduğu ve ikili ilişkilerin başladığı zamana odaklanan çalışmasını anlatırken, döneme ait ilgi çeken gazete kupürleri ve fotoğraflarla anlatımını süsleyen Karel Valansi, sunumunun sonunda kendisine yöneltilen sorulara yanıt verdi.

Panorama Asks: The NATO Summit in Ankara

On 7-8 July 2026, NATO’s heads of state and government met in Ankara for the Alliance’s 36th summit. It was the second time Türkiye has hosted this gathering since Istanbul in 2004.
